What are Fractional Carbon Credits?
Fractional Carbon™ trading is a new and evolutionary concept in environmental credits. Since typical carbon financial instruments (CFIs) represent as much as one to ten metric tons of CO2, it is difficult to create exact emissions offsets. In addition, large quantities of CO2 can only be generated by very large emitters, limiting the general public (and you the consumer) from generating or benefiting from carbon offsets. The GEX platform lets you buy or register CO2 reductions by the pound so that the pool of offsets can be exactly matched to any buyer’s requirements. Buyers only pay for what they use. Registrants don’t have to sacrifice fractional carbon offsets of less than one ton of CO2.
