Company & Project Overview
Narrow Mountain Products is a point of purchase (POP) display company that designs, manufactures and installs display products for retail stores. They moved into a new building in 2015, where the lighting was very dark and the space needed improvements to suit their usage. The dim lighting made it extremely hard for employees to do their work effectively. They had to constantly move lights around just to be able to see to perform work and do quality control. Many times the lightbulbs would burn out and it would take time to replace them.
Savings & Easy Process
AMERIgreen was brought in to assess the situation, and noticed right away that Narrow Mountain Products could save on lighting and energy expenses. AMERIgreen’s lighting and electricity audit found a potential savings of 63% on annual electricity expenses for Narrow Mountain Products.
AMERIgreen negotiated a 20% reduction in monthly electricity supply rates. They migrated all of their traditional 455 watt light bulbs to new 97 watt LED light bulbs and fixtures. Additionally, AMERIgreen helped Narrow Mountain with further state and federal funding sources, and processed applications resulting in a $7,734 rebate and a potential $9,500 grant.
Narrow Mountain Products’ employees appreciate the new lighting
because it makes their job so much easier, and they feel good about their ability to produce an even better product. The brighter environment has improved workflow, employee efficiency, and employee happiness in general.
“The whole process was really easy to go through and it was super beneficial for us from an economic standpoint because it saved us so much money in our utilities that the project was well worth us considering doing it,” remarked Jacqueline Sensenig, Owner of Narrow Mountain Products. “It is expensive to run a shop of this size, and in a short amount of time the project will pay for itself AND be saving us money in the future.”
No Interruptions to Daily Work Flow
“I did not have any problems with production being held up, everything ran just as smoothly as any other day,” said Tina Tristiano, Office Manager. And Chad Rhoads, Plant Manager, said “It took AMERIgreen less than a week to replace the lights, and they weren’t in the way at all.”
